PITH cover commission

The PITH Cover Commission invites artists, illustrators and designers to create the inaugural cover of PITH, the quarterly journal of The Marmalade Society. We are seeking original artwork that captures the spirit of modern living through craftsmanship, creativity and imagination. The selected work will become the first cover of PITH, introducing the publication to readers when the inaugural issue is released this autumn. Whether emerging or established, we welcome submissions from creatives who share a passion for thoughtful, enduring work.

What You'll Receive

  • The selected artwork will appear on the cover of the inaugural issue of PITH, introducing the publication to readers when it launches this autumn.

  • The selected artist will receive editorial credit within the publication and be recognised across The Marmalade Society's website and social channels.

  • The selected artist will be invited to The Marmalade Society's launch event, where the inaugural issue of PITH will be unveiled.

  • Every submission helps shape the beginning of PITH. Artists who enter may also be considered for future commissions, editorial collaborations and creative opportunities with The Marmalade Society.

This commission offers more than a magazine cover. It is an opportunity to become part of the founding issue of PITH and have your work introduced to readers through a publication designed to be collected and revisited. The PITH Cover Commission is open to artists, illustrators and designers. Submit your original artwork for the opportunity to create the inaugural cover of PITH.

SHORTLISTING

27 August 2026

Following the closing date, our editorial panel will review every submission and select a shortlist of artists whose work reflects the vision of PITH.

COVER SELECTED

31 August 2026

One artwork will be chosen as the inaugural cover of PITH. The selected artist will be contacted directly before the public announcement.

PUBLICATION

Autumn 2026

The winning artwork will appear on the cover of the inaugural issue of PITH and be unveiled at The Marmalade Society's launch on October 16th 2026.
